Beileve: Create the list

February 24, 2018 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

One other tool that you can use to foster belief in yourself is listing your successes.

Whenever I embark on a new project/goal, I make a list of my successes or accomplishments such as learning to drive when neither parent did, being the first female cousin in my family to graduate from college and being elected president of my state professional association.

Well actually, I keep a list in a file that I can review and add to when I start a new goal or if I just need a reminder that encourages me to push forward.

Doing this exercise, while it may feel silly or like bragging, really helps you to acknowledge that you have been able to achieve great things in the past and provides the foundation on which to build your next success.

What is on your list?

Surveying Your Accomplishments

August 8, 2009 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

“Winners take time to relish their work, knowing that scaling the mountain is what makes the view from the top so exhilarating.” ~ Dennis Waitley

Moving from one task to another gives us momentum. Yet, if we don’t take the time to acknowledge what we have achieved, we can quickly run out of motivation.

If you are struggling with a task or project, step back and write down a quick list of goals- big and small- you have achieved. Also, acknowledge the steps that you took to get there.

Seeing your accomplishments in writing can provide the motivation for the next goal. So relish your work and applaud your actions. What’s next?
