You Can’t Catch the Bus at the Train Station

February 20, 2010 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

I came across that statement and thought it to be profound.

What it means to me is that you have to be in the right place at the start of your journey in order to get to where you are going. Are you in the right place mentally to make permanent change in your life?

That’s why January may not be a good time of the year to make resolutions or goals. It may be better to do it now or when you are really ready to begin the journey of change.

Have you thought about the impact your resolutions (goals) are going to make on your life? Do you need to change the way you grocery shop or schedule your time? Have you looked at past accomplishments to set yourself up for success? Have you developed a list of alternatives to triggers for unhealthy choices?

Are you in the right place to start your journey? Maybe you need to set yourself up for success by determining your goal, the steps you need to take along the way and your mode of transportation.

Are you ready? Are you taking the bus or the train?

Are You Circling in the Roundabout?

February 13, 2010 by clutterbusting 1 Comment

I am not sure if you have roundabouts in the town where you live. In the last few years several have been added near my home. While I see some benefits to having them I am also concerned about how people drive through them. They are so much in a hurry that they can’t wait…pause to make a good decision for traveling through the roundabout. It is almost as if they are plowing through it. That’s what concerns me. They don’t take time to even stop or pause for a second to consider the others that want to move through or their best route for exiting the roundabout. Going Through the Opening Into the Light

September 1, 2009 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Often when I am searching for answers inspiration comes in to my life in the form of a person, event or reading. The website www.dailyom.com again provided that inspiration for moving forwarding and getting unstuck.

I have come to a conclusion that sometimes when we feel stuck we may actually be fearful of what moving forward will bring us. This posting from Daily Om reminded me that if we just work through the uncomfortable we get to the light: http://www.dailyom.com/articles/2009/19966.html

If you are looking for the light to shine in your life, if you desire to get unstuck and move forward with your journey you can:
• Meditate
• Journal
• Seek support
• Think positively/use affirmations
• Just do it! Leap

How do you become unstuck?

The Journey… a step at a time

June 6, 2009 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” ~Chinese Proverb

If you have read any of my previous posts you will notice a trend of encouraging you to take small steps or baby steps. Think about it…that’s all it takes to get started toward your greatness. One step. Then another.

Do you look at your life, your “to do” list, your incompletes, your clutter, your body, your career and feel so overwhelmed you do not know where to start or even know how to begin. The more overwhelmed you feel the harder it is to get started. That’s why all you need is one baby step into your future.

So in order to get started…the secret to moving your life forward…is to begin where you are now. Begin with accepting where you are right this minute. Start by looking at yourself in the mirror and giving yourself a compliment out loud. And commit to sending positive messages to your mind and you will become what you believe. So step up to the mirror…you look MARVELOUS!

Today is the Day…Letting Go of Tolerations

June 2, 2009 by clutterbusting 1 Comment

Yesterday I visited the website of my coach, Janet. I have been following her preparations for her “Journey to Higher Ground”. Yesterday she began her journey with simplicity and by addressing tolerations. To read more visit  http://nourishyourlife.com/2009/06/01/today-day/ .

Also, if you would like to read a little more about what I have written on tolerations check out my post What are You Tolerating (http://clutterbustingcoach.com/2008/08/26/what-are-you-tolerating/).

By becoming aware of the things you are “putting up with” you can start your own journey. Make today the day…join Janet and me on the journey.
