Christmas Planning for 2023…. it’s too early, right?

October 21, 2023 by DeclutterDivva Leave a Comment

You might be thinking that it is too early to think about the holiday, yet it is not really that early. Christmas is nine weeks away. ONLY nine weeks!

If you want to take the stress out of the holidays and enjoy the season, consider using the next week to prep and then start your holiday eight-week plan to start a week from today.

Starting your plan now, will bring joy to the season instead of stress.

Holiday Countdown 2021

October 23, 2021 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Did I write “Holiday” in an October post? I did. Yes, I know that Christmas is over eight weeks away.

That is why I am mentioning it now. Much of our holiday stress is a result of not having a strategy or plan. When you don’t even think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving, you can’t help being stressed because that leaves only four or five weeks depending on the year. And, as with last year, add the circumstance of planning celebrations or holidays to a pandemic and that makes it a bit more challenging.

So I would encourage you, especially this year, to decide what is important for celebrating the upcoming 2021 Holiday and then create a strategy to achieve that.

As I do every year, and it is worth repeating, take the stress out of the holidays and begin your holiday countdown November 1.

If you would like to obtain a copy of my Eight Week Holiday Survival Checklist, contact me by October 31.

Do you have a clear vision of the holiday of your dreams? If not, take a few minutes to do so now.

Visualization is very powerful. Use it as a tool to achieve the holiday of your dreams.

Clutter Busting: Holiday Stress

November 10, 2018 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Holidays can be stressful, but not if you implemented my Holiday Checklist. Hopefully you have started your holiday tasks on November 1. If not, there is still time to implement them by using the modified version of the Checklist.

Making the choice to stress less this holiday can be done…you just must make the commitment to do it.

Just think how different your holiday can be if you began working on it earlier…make that choice for yourself.

Clutter Busting: Stress Less Countdown

December 5, 2015 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Where are you with your holiday planning? If you started around November 1 you should be making some great progress on your task list and hopefully you are feeling less stressed. The whole idea of a holiday countdown is to tackle a few tasks each week so you avoid being overwhelmed and so you can hopefully enjoy the season a little more.

Even if you are just getting started today, here are some ideas to divide and conquer your holiday task list in three weeks:

  • Schedule your tasks in your calendar. Select three days each week to work on your holiday to-do list.
  • Decide what tasks are necessary and which are nice. Allow yourself to remove one or two items from your list. This will open you up to experience more joy.
  • Delegate. Get your family members (based on age and skill level) to help with items still left on the “to do” list such as decorating, baking, wrapping, shopping or decorating.

Make your plan and work your plan and your holiday countdown will be joyful instead of stressful.
