The Word for 2021 Integrity

January 2, 2021 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

I read a book in the fall and integrity came up related to following through on a health commitment.

That inspired my word choice for 2021.

For those that may not have been following me, instead of resolutions, I select a word to focus on for each new year. Usually a thought, reading or conversation will inspire my selection.

And the choice begins with a definition.

Integrity

noun

  1. adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.
  2. the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished: to preserve the integrity of the empire.
  3. a sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition: the integrity of a ship’s hull.

The intention I am setting for my 2021 word is to employ integrity when I make choices or decisions this year and ensure that they support my values and goals.

What is your word?

The Word 2020: Abundance

January 4, 2020 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

This year my word came to me relatively easy. Some years it is like that while other years it is more of a journey to get to my selected word. 2020 will be all about the Word abundance. To get started, as always, I looked up the definition at thefreedictionary.com.

a·bun·dance
noun
1. a. A great or plentiful amount: an abundance of rain.
b. The condition of being in rich supply: bananas growing in abundance.
2. a. Degree of plentifulness: “Species of low abundance are ignored in the calculation of predominance” (William M. Lewis).
b. Chemistry The amount of an isotope of an element that exists in nature, usually expressed as a percentage of the total amount of all isotopes of the element.
3. Affluence; prosperity: living in abundance.

As I selected the word, my intention was focusing on the condition of being in rich supply. This could mean opportunities for myself inclusive of all others, enough time to do the things I want to do, and/or resources.

My goal is to remind myself that I need to dispel narrow thinking and restrictive self-talk while embracing all that is available to me especially health, love and joy.

I am looking forward to what 2020 will bring. I am excited for this next chapter.

May 2020 be a year of abundance for you as well.

Holiday Joy: The Reason for the Season

December 7, 2019 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

What is the reason for your season?

As I was reflecting on my year of focusing on the word purpose, I had a light bulb moment. The things that I accomplished this year may not have always aligned with my purpose. And to be honest, I can’t say that I am still clear on my one true purpose for my life. Yet, if I approached each task or situation with a purpose or goal in mind, I accomplished more and so can you.

So, as we move full swing into this holiday season 2019, I ask you to stop and think about the purpose of this season and how you would like to honor that. Then plan to focus or refocus some of your holiday to dos and/or activities to honor that purpose.

Wishing you holiday happiness!

Where is Purpose?

June 1, 2019 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Today is June 1. We are going into the sixth month of the year and I am checking in on my word for 2019: purpose.

Purpose is the sweet spot where passion, vocation, mission and profession meet.

The new month and the sixth month mark in the year is a great time to take inventory to determine if we are any closer to living with purpose. Personally, I need to do a little more work in moving toward my purpose. Luckily, I am a work in progress.

Will you join me? Are you interested in finding your purpose? Life coaching can help with this journey.
