Connection check in time.
Connect in the holiday moment.
I have spent the last 10 months focusing on lessons learned in my intention to connect. As I was thinking about this intention, I realized that it just important to think about and how I wanted to take this intention into the last two months of the year and beyond. I suggest that as we approach the holiday season, let’s think about how we intend to connect with family.
Do you speed from Thanksgiving to Christmas trying to get all the things on your to-do list completed? Are you overwhelmed? Do you look around on Christmas Day and wonder where all the holiday joy went? Is everyone just doing their own thing and not connecting with each other?
Here are some suggestions for connecting with family this season:
- Schedule at least one meal each week as a family without electronic.
- Have each family member contribute an idea for a family activity and once a week draw one idea to do together. Ideas include ice skating, family game night, a walk to view the lights or a family bake-a-thon.
- Listen to carols or watch holiday movies together.
Which one will you do? Do you have other ideas? I have picked mine already.
