Connect Check in #11

December 1, 2018 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

It has been a great 11 months of connecting. My hope is that the lessons I have learned will continue beyond this month and this year’s intention as I consider my word for 2019.

As a final thought on connecting, during this holiday month instead of rushing through your list or doing things because you must check them off, consider pausing for some opportunities to connect with other and enjoy the season. And if you have been using the holiday checklist, you may find that you have some space to do so.

There are many ideas for incorporating some holiday traditions or creating new ones with family and friends to further your connection.

Enjoy your holiday moments and connect.

Connecting Check In #10

Connection check in time.

Connect in the holiday moment.

I have spent the last 10 months focusing on lessons learned in my intention to connect. As I was thinking about this intention, I realized that it just important to think about and how I wanted to take this intention into the last two months of the year and beyond. I suggest that as we approach the holiday season, let’s think about how we intend to connect with family.

Do you speed from Thanksgiving to Christmas trying to get all the things on your to-do list completed? Are you overwhelmed? Do you look around on Christmas Day and wonder where all the holiday joy went? Is everyone just doing their own thing and not connecting with each other?

Here are some suggestions for connecting with family this season:

  • Schedule at least one meal each week as a family without electronic.
  • Have each family member contribute an idea for a family activity and once a week draw one idea to do together. Ideas include ice skating, family game night, a walk to view the lights or a family bake-a-thon.
  • Listen to carols or watch holiday movies together.

Which one will you do? Do you have other ideas? I have picked mine already.

Connecting Check In #9

Connection check in time. If you are just starting to read my blog, let me catch you up.

My intention for 2018 was to connect and I am sharing some of my lessons learned through the process. And to be honest, by committing to provide a monthly blog post and my progress, I have been better this year than most in keeping my intention at the forefront.

Over the last two months I have connected with family to just visit and be with them. That is a blessing.

I have also been able to reconnect with colleagues/friends. And this too was uplifting and inspirational. I have great friends who support me and help me feel part of something bigger than myself. It also allows me to unplug and recharge with like-minded people.

In our busy lives (or at least in mine) because of the urgent, I often forget about the important. Spending time with family and friends, sharing memories and making new ones helps us stay connected.

What a wonderful ability. Who do you need to connect with?

Connecting Check In #8

September 1, 2018 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

My intention for 2018 to connect has continued to be meaningful for me.

Where have eight months gone? It sure moves quickly or, so it seems. Which again gives me a light bulb moment for this post.

Connection happens in the moment. Sometimes we are so busy and moving from one thing to another that it almost feels like we don’t even take a breath. If only we had the time…

We all have 24-hours each day. What can you do to make the most of your time, so you can connect with others?

Connecting Check In #7

Connecting is all about being present, mindful and curious. My intention for 2018 to connect has been insightful. And I am grateful for all that I am learning through this process. It has reinforced the idea of life as a journey and it being about blending not balance.

And it continues to come down to daily choices. What is your choice for today?
