Make Room for Change

April 27, 2013 by clutterbusting 1 Comment

Have you resolved to change? Have you declared your intention to change? Have you started to make choices that will start the change process?

Great!  But are you still struggling?

Then ask yourself…Have you made room for change in your life? Let go of the things that no longer serve you so that you can move forward with those things that are most beneficial. You can’t have room for anything new — or be anyone new — if you have a cluttered mind or space.

Here are some thoughts about making room for change: [Read more…] about Make Room for Change

October 20, 2012 by clutterbusting 1 Comment

I  can’t believe how the weather has changed. We are definitely experiencing the change of seasons here in Michigan and enjoying the tail end of the color show from the trees.

Fall is a great time for getting organized. I thought I would again share some tips from a previous post.

So fall into organization!

More Holiday Savings- Regifting

October 13, 2012 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Each year in December I post about National Regifting Day which is the third Thursday in December.

This year I thought I would post on the subject earlier since this month I decided to focus on freeing up some holiday money. Another opportunity for some savings this year is to regift. Read more about regifting and consider using it as a tool to save money this holiday season.

Easy Holiday Money

October 6, 2012 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

I was preparing for an upcoming seminar that I am doing on October 23 at the Farmington Community Library on Surviving the Holidays and that made me think that we all could use some extra cash for holiday celebrations. So if you are looking for a few more dollars for your holiday budget here are some tips that can help you eliminate some clutter as well.

  • Search your house for hidden gems such as old toys and action figures and sell them on eBay.
  • Take heirlooms to antique stores for pricing or vintage comic books or autographed sports memorabilia to a pawn-shop.
  • Find your loose cash. On average each adult has about $90 in loose change around the house and bills left in clothes pockets. So begin hunting and cash the change in.
  • Review your current expenses and eliminate three items reduce (like eating out less frequently) or eliminate (like the gym membership you aren’t using).

Even implementing one of these tips can add more cash in your pocket for the holidays!

A Runner’s Journey- Some Final Thoughts

September 29, 2012 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Am I a runner?

My goal at the start of this journey was to run a 5K. Period. I accomplished that. But I also said I would determine if I was going to run in the future, incorporate it in my workouts or actually complete future 5k events.

I have run for some of my workouts in the two weeks since my first 5k. So I guess it is official…I am a runner for as long as my legs can carry me. For now that is a daily decision whether I will run or not.

Will I run another 5k? We will see. There is always that possibility.
