I am totally immersed into getting ready for my garage sale. The sight of the garage sale pile of boxes is exciting. It is exciting because I know that this pile is stuff that will be leaving my home for good. Once it goes to the sale, if it is not sold, it will immediately go to a charity.
In addition to some of the tips that I have already provided about getting ready for a garage sale, here are a few more:
• Spread the word about your sale via email or Facebook the Wednesday before the sale.
• Post ads on free lists such as craigslist.com and garagesalestracker.com.
• Put up a sign at the local grocery store or drug store.
• Post road signs (where you will get most of your traffic) a few days before the sale.
And as for pricing items as you get ready for the sale consider using resources such as eBay, craiglook.com or stop at your local thrift or consignments shops to investigate prices.
Pricing items “right” and getting the word out can help you have a successful garage sale because the whole idea is to not have these items come back into your home…so do what it takes to get them sold.
