Are You Wasting Time?

February 24, 2009 by clutterbusting 1 Comment

“Time is usually wasted in the same way every day.” ~ Paul Meyer

Do you ever find yourself saying “I don’t have time” or “If I only had more time I would…”?

For some reason you feel that you have no control over how your time is spent. WRONG!

Look at how you spend your day. What did you do yesterday and the day before? Did any of those things contribute to your success…the dream you have for your life…your prioriites?

If you answered no, you have probably gotten yourself stuck in a rut. Re-look at how you spent yesterday. Are bad habits stealing away valuable time of your every day life?

We don’t make changes because we make excuses. Don’t let time get in the way of your success. Here are a few suggestions for gaining valuable minutes that will add up so that you do have the time for your life:

  • Delegate a routine task to family member or co-worker.
  • Streamline your morning routine by preparing the night before.
  • Develop a strategy to avoid distractions or interruptions.
  • Eliminate things that you do to avoid starting a project (focus on the must dos and not the could dos).
  • Watch 30 fewer minutes of television each day.

By carving out 15 to 30 minutes each day by changing unproductive habits you will have the time you need to work on your priorities. These small bits of time will add up quickly and contribute to your success. What time wasting activity will you get rid of today?
