Living with Resilience

September 14, 2019 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

When I first came up with the VIGOR© approach, I selected routine as a focus. But as I further looked at this concept, I realized that “R helped frame two other components. One was resilience and the other was relationships.

Resilience is about how well you bounce back or are you willing and able to refill your glass when it keeps getting drained. And it is also about how you can access activation or in other words can you access your motivation and energy.

Focusing on resilience and relationship is about living optimistically, with pleasure and zest.

So, on a scale of 1 to 10, how resilient are you? And based on your answer, are there things you can do to help refill the glass.

I will post about relationships next.

Practice Resilience This Holiday Season

December 3, 2016 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

pour-from-an-empty-cupWe all complain about what a whirlwind the holiday is and how stressful this time of year is.

We fail to remember that we choose what activities, events and priorities we participate in.

What if this holiday season during the month of December you chose to practice resilience?

So here is my challenge, pick one thing you can do to fill your cup everyday. I bet you will be surprised in the difference it makes. Challenge accepted?

Holiday Expectations – It’s Not Too Late to Change

November 26, 2016 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

So you just finished or are in the middle this weekend of your Thanksgiving Day celebrations.

And so it begins the holiday rush. Do you get caught up in the traditions and activities of the season and before your know it you are overcommitted and feeling stressed.

What happened to your commitment last year to make changes? I understand it is hard to change and to feel like you are disappointing family or friends, but you need to set expectations for yourself and your family so that you can reduce holiday stress. And so that you can actually enjoy the season and experience some joy and peace.

So take a pause today and ask yourself what would give you joy this year and make plans to incorporate that into your holiday plans. If you keep doing the same things you will keep getting the same results. If you are okay with that; then that is great. But if you are looking for something different from the holiday season this year…take a risk and change things up. You might be surprised…others might thank you for it.

This quote is worth sharing again…

Let me listen to me and not to them. ~ Gertrude Stein
