Clutter Blog Talk

December 2, 2008 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

I had the pleasure of recently being interviewed on CoachVille Caffeine which is a weekly blog talk show in the coaching community. The show is hosted by Coach Dave Buck. It was an honor and privledge to be a guest of this show.  CV Caffeine is a talk radio show featuring interviews with coaches, thought leaders and folks doing great things. Although the show I was a guest on didn’t have live Q & A it could be heard live on the phone and internet.

I was able to share information about “clutter busting” and my coaching practice. If you would like to hear the segment I have attached the direct link here: http://progressive.playstream.com/thomasleonard/progressive/caffeine/cc182-111708-michaelineraczka-rss.mp3.

I hope that you will listen to my first venture into blog talk. While the target audience is other coaches you may increase your awareness about the clutter in your life and even pick up a tip or two. Let me know what you think after you listen.

For more information about CoachVille you may wish to visit: www.CoachVille.com.

Five Quick Clutter Cures

November 22, 2008 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Yes, I know that Thanksgiving is just around the corner and that you have been busy planning and preparing. So I am thinking that some of the clutter might have reappeared in your day-to-day life.

Here are five easy and quick clutter cures that can calm the pre-holiday chaos right now:

  1. take all the paper and items that have accumulated on your one counter “hot spot”  and sort and pile them. File or put them away later, but just clearing the decks can reduce some of the stress.
  2. pick up all the things that do not belong in your family room and put them where they belong.
  3. clean your purse or wallet.
  4. collect all your notes on all the little pieces of paper and re-write on your master list (on one larger sheet of paper).
  5. clear off your bedside tables and remove items that do not belong in your bedroom.

Just doing one or more of these quick fixes can restore some harmony into your life today. So pick one thing and do it now!

The “Present ” Moment

July 15, 2008 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Are you living in the present moment?

Many of us live in the “busyness” of today. Thinking about what didn’t get done or what we need to do tomorrow. So rarely are we present in the day.  Maybe you are living with regrets for things that you haven’t accomplished or you are impatient for tomorrow?

Sometimes we just need to slow down and be “here” today. One way to do that is to sit quiet for 10 minutes. Focus on nothing, but your breath. Being with yourself for even this short time can energize and refresh you as well as center you.

Living in the “present” is a gift you can give yourself today. It is just 10 minutes. Try it.

Are Your Relationships Adding Value?

June 21, 2008 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

The topic of relationships came up again the other day for me when I received a daily inspirational post from Daily Om:

http://www.dailyom.com/articles/2008/14234.html

It struck me because this was the second time in the space of a week that I received an email on the topic. This post spoke to energy drain and relationships that do not serve us.
Do you manitain certain friendships or activities just because you have always done so? Do you get together with “the gang” and do the same thing all the time? If you do and continue to enjoy them and get energy from those times, you have found some joy and companionship and possibly even support. You have a relationship that fuels you.

Are Your “Incompletes” Draining Your Energy?

June 17, 2008 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

I think the activity of evaluating the “incompletes” in your life and dealing with them is so important that I will share one other perspective with you today.

In assessing your list of “incompletes” did you identify anything that required support from another person or group? Did you determine if you had their support or not? Remember you can only change yourself. And anytime you put energy into a person or activity without the other person being committed to the process, you are wasting your energy and, therefore, your time. It is better to eliminate that energy drain from your list and move forward with items you can impact.

Here’s a link to a post from Coach John Agno that discusses this further. I found it intriguing.
