Resolve to Find Opportunities

December 29, 2012 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Approach the New Year with resolve to find the opportunities hidden in each new day. ~Michael Josephson

Each New Year comes with the anticipation of what could be. And each day offers the same opportunity no matter what time of year. It’s a clean slate.

What opportunities will you take advantage of this year? Will you use your ability to make choices on a daily basis to propel your life forward?

So my New Year’s wish for you is to choose to use each day to create the life of your dreams.

Dream Big…What are Your Goals for 2010?

January 2, 2010 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Happy 2010!

What are your dreams and goals for the New Year? Are you planning on taking small baby steps or is it time to push yourself out of your comfort zone into something bigger for yourself?

In a recent post from my Coach, Janet, she addresses this topic of dreaming bigger. She makes a great point about playing it safe or taking a leap for the brass ring. I too have been a supporter of small baby steps, but she now has me thinking that you sometimes have to shake it up and just leap…take a big step toward your big dream.

As you set your sights on your 2010 goals (dreams) are you going to pick the same things or push…really push toward the bigger dream?

So are you ready to leap? Leap with me for the New Year.

More on New Year’s Resolutions

January 6, 2009 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

I recieved this daily inspirational email from one of my favorite sites, Daily Om, on December 31, 2008 and thought I would share it with you: http://www.dailyom.com/articles/2008/16540.html

This post continues the topic of making and keeping New Year’s resolutions. When you make resolutions you may often do so because you think you should. Like many others you may think that the New Year is a great time for a new “start”. Yet, is it best to base the start of “the new you” solely on the date on the calendar? The post referenced above shares a perspective between shoulds, coulds and musts in relation to resolutions. [Read more…] about More on New Year’s Resolutions

New Year’s Resoutions…Intend to be Successful

January 3, 2009 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

We go through the same exercise each year…the New Year’s resolution. As a life coach I get asked by people how they can keep their resolution. Here are a few tips:

  • skip the word “resolution”, instead use the word “intention”.
  • instead of framing your resolution in negative terms (i.e. cutting something out), re-frame it positively.
  • start your intention when you feel motivated, don’t let the calendar determine when you start.
  • list your past accomplishment which will help you feel successful already.
  • ask for support.
  • set up a reward system for each milestone you achieve.

One way to ensure success is to switch to a focus or intention such as health, simplicity, fitness, calmness or happiness versus making a resolution. Using a phrase or word can set the intention for the year and can help you evaluate all your priorities, actions and goals.  When you set an intention you set a course for the future not for just a few days, weeks or months. If you think about it most people set a resolution with a start and end date. Instead intend to change your life and see how powerful that can be.

Wishing you the best of intentions for 2009!
