Clutter Busting: Choose to Become Unstuck

June 23, 2018 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

According to www.thefreedictionary.com the word stuck (as I am using it) is defined as:

Adj. 1. stuck – caught or fixed; “stuck in the mud”
unstuck – free; “a man with a mule got my car unstuck”; “the gears locked in second and would not come unstuck”
2. stuck – baffled; “this problem has me completely stuck”

When we have a cluttered mind, body or space, we are often stuck or feel caught with no way out.

You can choose to become unstuck by:
• Creating a vision for your life.
• Believing you can achieve your dreams.
• Taking action including daily practices.
• Making daily choices.

If you are feeling stuck, contact me for a free 30 minute introductory session to see if working with me (a life coach) can help you become unstuck.

Clutter Busting: Choice

June 16, 2018 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

As we refocus our goals and intentions to daily practices or living the journey versus getting to a destination, what this comes down to is choice.

It’s all about daily choices we make.

What do you choose for today?

Clutter Busting: It’s a Journey Not a Destination

June 9, 2018 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

What happens when you achieve a goal?

For many of us (me included), we aim and hit the goal and then we are done. This allows us to revert to our old habits. We must rethink our goals not as a destination but a journey. This will help us to continue healthy habits or maintain the achievement.

So, as you set your goals and intentions this summer, think about what daily practice(s) you need to choose to help you achieve and maintain the achievement.

Holiday Joy: Planning for Overnight Guests

December 9, 2017 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Are you expecting overnight guests this holiday season?

Besides cleaning, there are things that you can do to help make your guest’s visit enjoyable for them and for you.

There are many suggestions for welcoming holiday guests, but here are a few from me that also address clutter busting:

  • Schedule time ahead of the visit to declutter and clean your home so you are not exhausted when your guests arrive. Include this in your eight-week holiday checklist.
  • Ask your guests if they have any food preference or allergies ahead of time.
  • Have a variety of breakfast and snack foods available including fresh fruits, veggies and bottled water.
  • If possible, determine ahead what meals will be eaten at home or out so you don’t have to do too many grocery runs during the visit.
  • Prep meals ahead of time and freeze, use your slow cooker or batch cook.
  • Agree ahead of time of must dos as a group or individual activities.

A little time and project management can help ensure a great visit anytime not just for the holidays.

Clutter Busting: Time Management

December 2, 2017 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

With so many activities and responsibilities surrounding the holidays, time can get away from us especially if you are already a person who is frequently late for appointment, meetings or gatherings.

Here are some tips for getting places on time:

  • Review your checklist and calendar each morning and mid-day so you don’t have to trust your memory and so you keep your appointments as well as your tasks a priority.
  • Set an alarm for 30 minutes prior to when you need to leave.
  • While it is nice to cross something off your list, skip that last task prior to leaving. It will be there when you come back to it. Just write it down so you can mentally move on prioritize getting to your event on time.
  • Pad your estimated time for tasks. Most people under plan the time needed to accomplish tasks and, therefore, run behind or plan too many in one day.
  • Plan ahead. You never know when you might get stuck in traffic so pad your time estimates for travel even if GPS says travel time is 30 minutes.

While you can’t change time, you can change the decisions you make and that can help you be on time more frequently than not.

Try it this holiday season so you can be on time for all the festivities.
