May 6, 2023 by DeclutterDivva Leave a Comment

An important component of being a Registered Dietitian for me is supporting those coming into and new to the professional. It has been an honor of mine to precept dietetic and health Interns. This month, I have had the pleasure of having that opportunity, so this post is being provided in collaboration with nutrition expert and soon-to-be Registered Dietitian, Dayna Krukowski.

Self-care through nutrition is about fueling your body with nutrient-dense foods and feeling empowered with your food choices. Focus on adding a variety of fruits, vegetables and whole grains to your diet by finding fun ways to enjoy them!

  • Pick a new recipe to try out.
  • Meet a friend for a meal at a restaurant you’ve been wanting to visit.
  • Eat intentionally by taking time to thoroughly chew and taste your food.
  • Minimize distractions while eating – turn off the television, put your phone away, etc.
  • Listen to your body by paying attention to your hunger and fullness cues.

Pick something from the list above or come up with your own way of taking care of yourself through nutrition. Be present when you eat to help clear the clutter from your mind, body and space.

So I continue to have to do work on my attitude on exercise. And its why I have been challenged with maintain my own healthy weight.

We (I) have to approach exercise in positive way to clear our mindset for getting and staying in shape. I found the tips in this article helpful. I hope you will too.

Fitness From Within

Living life fully helps you realize that there is more to life than your weight, the number on the scale, your fitness level or your pant size.

Sometimes we focus on the outside stuff so much that we forget that we have to love ourselves enough to do what is best for us. Focusing inward on our beliefs, thought patterns and habits can be a catalyst for change. Learning self-acceptance is one of the first steps in self-care. Knowing and accepting that you are wonderful just because you are you can be the first step in clearing road blocks to a healthier and fit you. [Read more…] about Fitness From Within
