You Time…Replenish Your Energy

February 6, 2010 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

“We need time to dream, time to remember and time to reach the infinite. We need time to be.” ~ Gladys Faber

Are you taking time for yourself? Do you spend time refueling yourself?

Make yourself a priority and take time for you. It is not selfish. By taking time for yourself you will have more energy for others.

Manage Your Energy And Not Your Time

October 7, 2008 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

Do you feel that you need more than 24 hours in a day? Do you tell others about all the things you would accomplish if you just had more time? Do you feel time deprived?

We all just have 24 hours every day. How do you spend it? Are you focusing on the things that matter most to you…that achieve your goals, support your values or accomplish your mission in life?

I would like to suggest that if you want to change the focus of your accomplishments…if you want to feel good about getting things done…manage your energy and not your time.

When you are planning your day ask yourself what three things if you accomplished them today would make you feel great. List those three things and then schedule them into your calendar (hopefully at the time of time you are most productive). Fit everything else around those priority items.

By putting the things on your priority list first you will have the energy to accomplish other smaller tasks once the big ones are completed. So think of it as an investment in you…try it and you may be surprised by what you accomplish.

Keep It Simple

August 9, 2008 by clutterbusting Leave a Comment

I have written several posts about goal setting and developing action plans. I keep addressing the topic, because I know that “walking the talk” is tough…especially when we make everything else a priority over ourselves.

That is why I love the book “Simple Steps – 10 Weeks to Getting Control of Your Life” (New American Library 2003) by Lisa Lelas, Linda McClintock, and Beverly Zingarella. This book walks you through 40 steps developed by the trio of ladies that get implemented (compounded) over 10 weeks.

When I review this book it reminds me to keep my action plans simple so I don’t get overwhelmed. I have also worked with focusing my goals on the four areas that they suggest: health, weight, home and spirit. Broken down into achievable steps, you can’t help but be successful.

So what step can you take this week addressing health, weight, home or spirit? Don’t get overwhelmed…just do it!
